“He was my Rolling Stones, Beatles, Elvis and Madonna rolled into one person. The difference is that I have shaken his hand and talked to him one-on-one. Many have had that honor and all cherish it as among their finest and most memorable moments. He was accessible, generous, and most of all kind. His talent was so prodigious and unique that few in any field have ever shared such a unanimous regard as being absolutely the best. I can’t imagine loving anyone more, who is not my family member, than I have loved this man – Maynard Ferguson!”
